Dr. Thomas A. Milos, DVM
Dr. Milos is a 1964 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology; and a 1970 graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign College of Veterinary Medicine.
Before opening Shakespeare Veterinary Hospital in the fall of 1977, Dr. Milos worked at a large animal practice in Bolton, Connecticut; a small animal practice in Milford, Connecticut, and a mixed animal practice in Woodstock, Connecticut. After moving to Stratford, he worked at a small animal practice for a year prior to starting his own. Dr. Milos now has over 40 years experience in clinical practice.
Dr. Milos’ professional affiliations include membership in the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), Association of Sugar Glider Veterinarians (ASGV), Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association (CVMA), the Fairfield County Veterinary Medical Association (FCVMA), and the New Haven County Veterinary Medical Association (NHCVMA).
Additionally, Dr. Milos is a US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS)-accredited veterinarian with authorization to perform accredited duties (such as Health Certification for Travel) on Category I animals, which includes cats, dogs; and amphibians and reptiles.1
Dr. Milos regularly completes more than 75 hours of continuing education (CE) each year (in 2010 he completed more than 100 hours of RACE approved CE credit). With his commitment to attending local seminars, national conferences, and webinars, Dr. Milos incorporates the latest advances in veterinary medicine into maintaining a progressive practice and the goal of providing the best possible care for our patients.
Dr. Milos lives with his wife in Stratford. They share their home with their cat, Nona. Dr. Milos enjoys gardening, yoga, and cycling. He is also an avid science fiction book reader and collector.
